Choir

The Pera Ilić Choir is a cherished part of the Serbian Orthodox parish, growing steadily under its current conductor and bringing sacred music to both worship and community life. With about twenty members, it remains a welcoming place for all who wish to honor this tradition.

The Musical Heart of the Parish

The Choir Pera Ilić is a long-standing part of our Serbian Orthodox parish, continuing a tradition of serving the church and community through sacred music for many years. In 2017, the choir began working under the direction of Gorjana Doskovic, and since then it has steadily grown in both size and musical strength. During the challenging years of the COVID pandemic, the choir remained active, singing outdoors in difficult conditions and maintaining its commitment to parish life. Today, the choir includes about twenty active members and warmly welcomes new singers who wish to join.

A Choir With a Story

In addition to regular liturgical services, the choir participates in parish events such as the Serbian Fall Festival and provides music during church fresco tours. The choir also sings on major Serbian religious and historical holidays, helping preserve our musical and cultural heritage. Looking ahead, the choir hopes to take part in concerts and fundraisers in support of the church and the wider community. The Choir Pera Ilić continues to be a place of dedication, cooperation, and respect for the rich tradition of Serbian Orthodox church music.

Faith That Endures

Our parish was not built in ease, but in perseverance, through times of struggle, loss, and renewal. Even when numbers declined and circumstances changed, the life of the Church did not disappear; it endured. In every generation, faith was carried forward, not as something inherited passively, but as something preserved through sacrifice, devotion, and unwavering hope.

A Living Continuity

The story of our parish is not only a record of the past, but a testimony of constant renewal. From its beginnings, through moments of growth and hardship, it has remained a place where faith is lived and restored again and again. What was once built by those before us now calls us forward, to continue, to strengthen, and to give life to the same enduring mission.
